The Drum Moderation

Comment here for comments that have been "disappeared" by the politically motivated "moderators" at The Drum. Please include a link to the original article.

Admittedly engaging in "debate" with leftists is one of life's joys, they come with such starry eyes, clueless and armed with falsehoods that they fervently believe in.  Of course the ABC is there to help them, deleting comments that rebut the false claims that litter the site. But stick at it and once in a while (usually after posting a few times and forwarding complaints to management) a post gets through and hilarity ensues.

Here is an example of one of the leftist "intellectuals". Dr Who. He is particularly funny because he actually thinks he possesses a clue. The following is part of the comments from Could a spill reset our fractured political cycle?

Dr Who's post:

Yes, harry, we had a renewable energy sector (mostly in photovoltaics), but Howard dropped the ball on R&D. Now, Sun Solar is making a fortune selling PV around the globe using processing methods originally developed here, and we're still trying to flog non-renewable resources for all they're worth. Lose another industry in pursuit of fossil fuels - the neoconservative approach.

Funny you said that the ALP relied on support from criminals - are you talking about Slipper, whose one vote helped Tony Abbott win the leadership of the Liberals in 2009? The same PM whose climate change statements have ranged from stating that climate change is crap, to climate change is urgent, to coal is good for humanity, to we should have a carbon tax, to we shouldn't have a carbon tax, to CO2 is an odorless, weightless gas that can't be measured, are indicative of multiple personality disorder and suggest that he might be mentally unstable?

Indeed, harry, apologists for PMs who relied on the support of criminals are truly certifiable.

My reply (kindly blocked by moderators repeatedly):

Apparently John Howard was in office in 2011 when Silex (our only PV manufacturer at the time) ceased making PV cells. Operating at a time that Labor was throwing billions at the industry was still insufficient to make this business work. However I have it on the good authority of a bunch of leftist imbeciles who have not a jot of experience in manufacture that we will soon leave China in our dust and renewables will magically place Australia at the forefront of manufacturing.
The classic conservative approach is terminate a bottomless pit of government subsidy and support something that actually works.

You seem to be deliberately avoiding mentioning Mr Thomson, I wonder why that is?
As usual your pathetic clutching at straws blows up in your face. Slipper was convicted of fraud in relation to cabcharge misuse in 2010. As you correctly state, he voted for Abbott in 2009. Idiot.

The pathetic leftist trope that Mr Abbott stated that "climate change is crap" is in fact an utter lie. When you actually research the origins of this leftist lie you will find that the "reporting" came from people who were Abbott's rivals making the claim that he stated that. The actual event where it occurred was not attended by any of them, but that doesn't matter to leftists. If someone makes a baseless accusation against someone and it is helpful to their cause then it suddenly becomes a fact.

Mr Abbott actually said: "The argument around Climate change is crap". The statement being part of a longer statement where he was describing how any one that professes any skepticism of the range of catastrophist claims that are being made by the nutters of the left are immediately labelled as wanting to destroy the planet.

Your last statement is the only one I can agree with. As we have found Mr Slipper had committed no crimes at the time that he voted for Mr Abbott. He had committed crimes by the time that he was brought into the role of Speaker to support the Gillard Labor govt. Mr Thomson had also committed his crimes prior to being the one that maintained Ms Gillard in office. In both cases Gillard was aware of the issues surrounding them when she sought their support.

Your prognosis of your mental stability is likely just a parroting of what a professional has already told you.

By the way Dr Who, I have no idea about Sun Solar, can't find anything about them. However you are likely talking about Suntech, the company started by Dr Shi Zhengrong from technology he created at UNSW. As of early 2013 he was thrown out of his position as chairman as his billion dollar PV company went broke.

Is that what you describe as "making a fortune"? Company in the hands of the banks and receivers, defaulting on over $1B of debt. No wonder you like Labor so much, using that metric Labor are superstars! They can lose $300B!

And there you have it, Dr Who swings several times and hits with each swing! Sadly the blows land at the back of his own head.
